Map Overview

Lijiang Tower is a Chinese futuristic city control map featuring three distinct sub-maps: Night Market, a neon-lit market district; Control Center, a sleek space monitoring facility; and Garden, a traditional outdoor garden area.

Night Market is close-quarters and rewards aggressive compositions.

Control Center has a central platform with sight over the entire point area.

Garden features an open courtyard with ledge hazards.

Lijiang Tower is one of the most played control maps in competitive and has a deep metagame for each sub-map.

Attack Strategy

On Night Market, rush the point immediately and establish Reinhardt's shield as a defensive anchor — the market's narrow paths favour aggressive teams.

On Control Center, contest the point from the side corridors rather than walking directly through the center.

On Garden, take the right-side elevated platform overlooking the point before committing to a ground push.

On all sub-maps, track the enemy team's positions and fight on the point rather than in the approach paths.

Defense Strategy

On Night Market, hold at the point entrance rather than on the point itself — your angles into the approaching lanes are superior.

On Control Center, use the elevated central balcony to fire down on attackers below — this is the map's strongest single position.

On Garden, hold the right elevated path and fire down on attackers using the point, making it difficult for them to hold.

If leading in percentage, play the perimeter and avoid the centre where you are outnumbered.

Key Positions & High Ground

Night Market Side Alley: A narrow passage running along the side of the Night Market point that allows quick flanking behind defenders.

Control Center Balcony: An elevated platform overlooking the entire Control Center point area — the map's most powerful single position.

Garden Right Platform: A raised stone walkway on the right side of the Garden that overlooks the capture area with strong sightlines.

Garden Flank Gate: A path through the back garden area that allows approaching the point from a completely unexpected angle.

Chokepoints to Control

Night Market's narrow approach corridors create natural chokepoints — Cassidy's Magnetic Grenade and Junkrat's grenades bounce around these corridors for amplified damage.

Control Center's approach corridors on both sides of the central platform are chokepoints that defenders hold from the inside.

Garden's open area means there are few chokepoints, but the elevated right platform creates a positional choke where the team without it is at a persistent disadvantage.

Ultimate Usage Tips

On Night Market, Graviton Surge into Dragonstrike through the market corridor clears the point in one combination.

On Control Center, Self-Destruct on the elevated balcony drops down onto the point for massive area damage.

On Garden, Earthshatter from the elevated right platform hits all enemies on the point below.

Lucio's Sound Barrier is highly valuable in Night Market's close-range fights where burst damage is extreme.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

1

On Night Market, players spread across the two approach corridors and enter the point with two or fewer players at a time — always commit the full team.

2

On Control Center, attackers ignore the elevated balcony and fight from the ground, taking continuous fire from above.

3

On Garden, teams stand in the open center of the point instead of using the platform edges for cover.

4

Giving up point percentage without a fight on all sub-maps by backing away too early.
