Map Overview

Hollywood is a hybrid map set on a movie studio lot in Los Angeles, where the payload begins on a Western saloon set, travels through the studio buildings, and delivers at the final film set.

The map's charm lies in its movie set environments, with distinct sections resembling an old west town, a classic studio backlot, and a grand film production finale.

The first capture point is at the saloon, and the payload then travels through the studio.

The map rewards teams that adapt to each zone's distinct geometry and sightlines.

Attack Strategy

For the first capture point, push from the right-side alley to avoid the head-on saloon defence.

Once captured, immediately push the payload through the first studio zone quickly before defenders regroup.

In the backlot section, take the overhead catwalk to avoid the defenders on the main street.

For the final film set, use the staircase on the right to establish the elevated position before pushing the delivery area.

Bank an ultimate specifically for the final zone narrow corridor.

Defense Strategy

For the first point defence, do not stand on the saloon porch — hold inside the saloon interior where your angles are superior.

Once the first point is lost, immediately set up in the elevated backlot catwalk section.

For the final zone, hold the narrow corridor entrance with a Bastion or Orisa setup and use the side room for retreat if needed.

Save a decisive group ultimate for the final delivery zone entrance.

Key Positions & High Ground

Saloon Upper Floor: The second floor of the saloon building on the first capture point has long sightlines over the entire approach.

Studio Backlot Catwalk: An overhead walkway in the studio section that allows fire down on both the payload and the main road defenders.

Final Zone Staircase: A staircase on the right side of the final film set area that leads to an elevated position overlooking the delivery point.

Director's Tower: A large elevated structure in the final zone that provides the map's best long-range position.

Chokepoints to Control

The saloon doorway for the first capture point is a defensive chokepoint that funnels attackers into a head-on confrontation.

Use the right alley to flank this position.

The studio corridor in the mid-section narrows significantly, creating a chokepoint that defenders hold with Bastion or Symmetra setups.

Clear this corridor with an Earthshatter or Graviton Surge before pushing.

The final film set entrance corridor is the tightest chokepoint on the map — area-of-effect ultimates are mandatory to breach it.

Ultimate Usage Tips

Nano Boost on Reinhardt through the studio corridor Earthshatter clears the mid-section defence in one combination.

Graviton Surge into Dragonstrike at the final film set entrance clears all defenders simultaneously.

Blizzard at the studio backlot narrows stops any push when time is critically low.

Kitsune Rush at the film set finale accelerates the last push and overwhelms defenders.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

1

Teams push the saloon first point head-on through the main entrance repeatedly instead of flanking through the right alley.

2

The flank approach is significantly safer and more effective.

3

Attackers stall at the studio corridor without ultimates ready, losing multiple players to the same Bastion setup.

4

Defenders abandon the backlot catwalk position too early — this position should be held until the payload forces them off.
