Havana Strategy Guide

Map Overview

Havana is set along the sun-drenched Cuban coastline, with the payload winding through a colonial harbour district, past a rum distillery, and into a dramatic final section along the seafront promenade.

The map is unique for its extremely long sightlines — particularly in the harbour approach — making it one of the most sniper-friendly maps in the game.

The three phases move through distinct environments: the initial harbour streets, the mid-section around the distillery, and the open final promenade.

Teams must balance controlling the high ground walkways against keeping the payload moving on the streets below.

Attack Strategy

Secure the elevated warehouse walkway on the left immediately — this is the key position controlling the first sightline.

Push the payload under cover of Sigma's barrier while damage heroes pick off defenders from the walkway.

At the distillery, have your flanker enter through the back door to threaten defenders holding the main entrance.

In the final promenade section, avoid the centre road and instead use the covered path on the left to approach the defenders.

Coordinate a Nano Boost rush for the final push where the promenade opens up into the delivery point.

Defense Strategy

Defenders must establish a sniper on the right lighthouse walkway immediately — this position controls the entire harbour approach.

Do not walk out to meet attackers at the payload; hold the corner near the first archway to prevent being flanked.

In the distillery section, hold the interior high ground — the walkway inside the building overlooks both routes through the middle section.

For the final promenade, split defenders between the covered left path and the main road to prevent bypassing.

Save Earthshatter or Gravitic Flux for the promenade choke.

Key Positions & High Ground

Lighthouse Walkway: On the right side of the harbour approach, this elevated position gives snipers the longest sightlines on the map — critical for early defence.

Distillery Upper Level: Inside the rum distillery, the walkway above the main floor controls both the indoor route and the exterior passage.

Promenade Left Cover: A sheltered path along the final section's left side that both attack and defence should control.

Roof Access: Various buildings throughout the map have accessible rooftops via stacked objects, giving advanced positions.

Chokepoints to Control

The harbour approach is the longest open section on any escort map, making it an extreme sniper's paradise.

Use Sigma's barrier as moving cover and prioritize eliminating the lighthouse sniper before pushing.

The distillery doorway creates a chokepoint similar to Dorado's hacienda — break it with AOE ultimates or flanking, never walk straight in.

The promenade narrows significantly near the delivery point, becoming a final chokepoint where defenders make their last stand.

Ultimate Usage Tips

Gravitic Flux through the harbour approach lifts all defenders and dramatically clears the early section of Havana.

Earthshatter through the distillery entrance is extremely powerful — the setup groups defenders perfectly.

On defence, a Self-Destruct or Graviton Surge in the promenade's final stretch can end a round when attackers have very little time remaining.

Kitsune Rush at the distillery section helps push through the tight interior quickly.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

1

Attackers consistently walk straight into the harbour's open section without killing the lighthouse sniper, suffering repeated losses.

2

Always clear the elevated positions before moving the payload into the long open stretch.

3

Teams defend the distillery from the ground floor instead of the upper walkway, losing the height advantage that makes this position so powerful.

4

Attackers spend too long waiting outside the distillery doorway — break through aggressively with utilities or you will run out of time.
